The Balkan Security Network, a pivotal regional program of the Euro-Atlantic Initiative (EAI), was established in 2005, with branches in Serbia and the United States. EAI has implemented and collaborated on numerous defense and security projects, focusing on raising public awareness, education, and research, alongside a multitude of international partners. These include the U.S. Department of State, NATO's Public Diplomacy Division, the European Commission, NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence, CRDF Global, and governmental institutions from Serbia, Montenegro, the United States, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, the German Marshall Fund of the U.S., Norwegian People's Aid, Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Serbia and Montenegro, the 'Obris - Obrana i sigurnost' portal in Croatia; security reporter Aleksandar Srbinovski in North Macedonia; the European Defendology Center and the Centre for Security Studies in Bosnia and Herzegovina; Monitorul Apararii and the Euro-Atlantic Resilience Forum in Romania; the Institute for Global Analytics in Bulgaria; the Centre for Democratic Transition in Podgorica, along with the Center for Youth Work in Novi Sad.
